The studio behind Ari Cerámicas
I'm Arielle, the potter behind Ari Cerámicas. I picked up pottery my senior year of high school, on hall passes I used to sneak out of class during a bad case of senioritis, just to get one good throw on the wheel. Most art had come easy to me. This didn't, and something about that pulled me in harder. It started on a secondhand wheel in my garage. I never expected it to turn into a business, it just kept happening: a mug for a friend, then a request for six more, then a waitlist.
Every piece I make passes through my hands, one at a time. Some thrown and trimmed on the wheel, others slab-rolled and hand-cut. That means no two mugs are identical, glaze pools land a little differently each time, and edges and rims are never perfectly uniform. I've made peace with that, and honestly, I've grown to prefer it. If you want a flawless matched set, a factory will do that better than I ever could. What I can give you is something that was actually touched by a person, start to finish.
Why everything’s a little uneven
Ari Cerámicas is a one-person studio based in San Marcos. I work in Cinco Rojo, a clay body from Armadillo Clay, and source my glazes from them and other suppliers online. Every glaze gets test-fired first, since the same glaze can look completely different depending on the clay body it lands on. That testing is part of why certain colors only stick around for a while. Once a batch runs out, that exact result isn't guaranteed to repeat.

FAQs
Q: How long does a custom piece take?A: It depends on what you're ordering. For a single item, plan on 4–6 weeks, start to finish. Larger or multi-piece orders take longer. Reach out with the details and I'll give you a more accurate timeline.
Q: Do you ship?A: Yes, currently within the US only.
Q: Is your pottery food-safe / dishwasher & microwave safe?A: Absolutely! Every piece is fired to the correct temperature for its clay and glaze, and I only use food-safe glazes, so you can eat, drink, and serve from your pottery with total confidence. Everything is dishwasher and microwave safe too. That said, like most handmade pottery, sudden temperature changes (like going straight from the freezer to a hot oven) aren't great for any ceramic piece, so I'd recommend easing pieces into heat when you can.
